Blackbird Lab is a software development company. While we are practicing an international working culture, we are proud representatives of Ukrainian values and traditions. We are a team of 90+ energetic, curious, smart, and open to new challenges tech pros who prefer efficient async communication, flexible working hours, a co-working office model, etc.

Being in this craft for 8+ years, we have managed to accumulate expertise and bring value to a number of clients. We cooperate with US and Canadian product companies of different sizes, from small startups to established products, in close, trusted relationships.

All team members, including management, have an engineering background. The process, participants who speak the same language and have a similar approach based on technical principles, is always efficient. It is way easier to make decisions and introduce new features in a team with engineering at heart. It is the technical DNA that lets us build high-quality products that facilitate the lives of our customers’ users.

Position & client

Our client, Toromont Cat, is a Canadian industrial company that provides equipment, power systems, and support services for industries such as construction, mining, and energy. The application is built on a Microsoft technology stack, including Azure, .NET, and an MSSQL database, and is used daily by internal staff to support core business operations.

Stack of the project

• Azure, ASP.NET, IIS

• Angular

• Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical and product discussions and contribute to solution design

• Write code and establish engineering standards and coding practices

• Estimate tasks and conduct code reviews

• Use AI tools to improve development productivity

• Lead migration from on-premise to cloud and manage infrastructure

• Refactor the existing application and decouple database operations

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with .NET / ASP.NET

• Strong experience with Angular for frontend development

• Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based architectures

• Hands-on experience with cloud migration (on-premise → Azure) and infrastructure management

• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)

• Proven experience in refactoring legacy systems and improving system design

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a must

• Upper-Intermediate English speaking level

This is a new engagement, so project management processes are still to be defined.

Interview process

• HR interview (30 mins)

• Technical interview with Senior Engineer (90 min)

• Interview with Project Manager (60 min)
