Blackbird Lab is a software development company. While we are practicing international working culture, we are proud representatives of Ukrainian values and traditions. We are a team of 80+ energetic, curious, smart, and open to new challenges tech pros who prefer efficient async communication, flexible working hours, a co-working office model, etc.

Being in this craft for 7+ years, we managed to accumulate expertise and bring value to a number of clients. We cooperate with US and Canadian product companies of different sizes, from small startups to established products, in close, trusted relationships.

All team members, including management, have an engineering background. The process, participants who speak the same language and have a similar approach based on technical principles, is always efficient. It is way easier to make decisions and introduce new features in a team with engineering at heart. It is the technical DNA that lets us build high-quality products that facilitate the lives of our customers’ users.

Position & client

Our client is a Canadian software company that builds a digital shopping marketplace for shoppers to get local savings and deals. The product is a flyer – a digital circular platform that enables users to browse and compare weekly ads and deals from retailers across North America. With Flyers users can search for deals on specific products or browse through full flyers from their favorite stores. The platform offers a range of features, including the ability to clip and save deals, create shopping lists, and set deal alerts for specific products. Our client is an established, profitable company that has been in the business for over 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Work with other development team members, the product owner estimates, and deliver business-impacting solutions every sprint
• Develop new features and improvements
• Develop and enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for the team
• Design and implement unit and integration tests to ensure the safety of your code
• Fix bugs and refactor code to improve internal and open-source packages

Requirements

• ~3 years of commercial experience with TypeScript, React.js
• A willingness to share insights and mistakes and receive feedback
• Experience with testing frameworks
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs
• Good knowledge of Git
• Intermediate English speaking level

Will be a plus

• Experience with Cloud (AWS)
• Experience with Docker
